Gemstones, Rings and Talismans
Sorcery is a special skill that allows you to trap creatures' spirits.
More than just a collectible items, spirits can also be injected into precious gem-stones to craft rings and talismans that confer some bonuses.
Gemstones
There are 5 gemstones:
When you find a gemstone, it will always be a raw one. You need to facet it using stoneworking skills and a Grind.
You can then combine the faceted gemstone with a ring and use your sorcery skills to inject the spirits inside.
If you wish to perfect more than one general skill, then sorcery + stoneworking is definitely a good combo.
Remember: you don't need any sorcery skill to wear one of those items. Just like you don't need any tailoring skill to wear a suede leather armor.
Rarer diamonds can handle stronger spirits. You can see the effect of each of the rings/talismans in the table below.
Small changes since edit:
-the Protection Talisman requires a Sapphire and not an Emerald
-tier 1 rings require a tin ring instead of iron ring
-tier 2 rings require a steel ring instead of silver ring
Note: You cannot wear two identical rings.
Status of ingame implementation:
