Kyri looked out over the pass taking in the views of the untouched wilderness, a solitary
Teratorn flew high above the flat plateau, it didn`t bother her, from the west the smells
of the forest blew up over the gentle slopes, a small spring bubbled up nearby feeding a
stream that tinkled and babbled eastwards into a lake, the spectacular rising heights of
the mountains that ran north and south refected in the clear still waters, form here she
could see deserts and plains and wastelands, quickly she wrote a message.
"Strat, you got to see this place!, I think you will love it!, have drawn a map with some
directions on the back, come soon"
When evening came she tied it to her trained bat and let it fly, some hours later the bat
returned to her with a message.
"What trouble have you found this time?, I`m on my way down to you" Stratophere`s neat and
looping writting unmistakable, with nothing to do but wait she settled down to sleep.
A day passed and then another, Stratosphere arrived early the third morning, after a quick
greeting He wandered around, searching here and there, staring out over the pass, taking in
the vistas, Kyri paced back and forth impatiently waiting for his verdict, time passed all
too slowly finaly she could contain herself no longer.
"Well what do think?" she asked, plainly annoyed at waiting, he turned slowly again looking
out over the pass.
"I made up my mind that this was a good place ages ago" he broke into a grin, "just wanted
to keep you in suspense"
"You evil bastard" Kyri scowled back at him.
"It is a great place, my only worry are those" he pointed up at a couple of Teratorns high
above them.
"I found Triboar and Dinictus here, Dinogorgons a little north of here but there are signs
of them here, the Teratorns seem to nest north and east of here, haven`t found any sign of
the things here" she wasnt quite sure they didn`t come here but thought it was worth the
risk, after all she could best them so it wasn`t realy her risk, she caught Stratosphere
looking at her, she stared innocently back.
"I think that this will do then" the tall leafborn walked over to his packs rumaging round
he produced a few tools and a couple of quart bottles of some sort of alchohol, "I brought
some supplies" he placed them in the cold water of the spring, "Let`s get to work"
