Game Update 12 December 2019
Server upgrade!
As most of you know, our beloved server burnt down early November. We had to get a new one urgently. However, with the increase of the playerbase, latest events (dragon fights, lokust event) have shown that this server is too weak to handle high activity loads.
We just got a brand new server, with 4x more RAM and 5.5x more CPU speed. This little bomb should guarantee a super smooth play even if the playerbase increases in the future.
The transition between the two servers should be smooth (expect a game-cut of a few hours). We are hoping to have it ready and set for Xmas week.
Hardcap-Softcap for weapon skills
Starting tomorrow:
The hardcap will be lifted to 400!
Softcap will 350. This means that between 350 and 400, only 1 hit out of 4 will give XP (every hit has 25% chance to give XP, so overall XP is divided by 4).
Once the first character hits 400, both hardcap and skillcap will show a progressive increase of 1 skill per week. The gap between soft and hardcap will be 50 in the beginning but this will be re-evaluated later down the line and could potentially be increased.
Anticheat
A lot of efforts in the past weeks/months have been put in strengthening our anticheat detection tools and also making it harder to cheat.
We are obviously not going to give more details on how our tools work but just know that some are active since July, and that we on purpose didn't announce anything so we could catch cheaters during that time.
And we caught many. Several have been sent to prison island the past weeks. Several more were sent today. Most of them to serve a lifetime sentence. More will follow in the coming days as the Executioner sorts through the tons of logs. Some of them were extremely cautious, using VPNs and never sharing IP a single time with their multi, avoiding interactions with their main char as much as possible. Great efforts, but not sufficient.
But the #1 rule to remember about all this:
Some additional measures taken to fight against resource-exploring multis:
Agi/Str, Tribe and Weapon balancing
As announced in the very early beginning of the game, we have to compensate for the snowball effect of the current Defense/Attack Power system by tweaking the bonus of Agility/Strength once more:
The new Agi/Str system is still underwork and should be active during the 1st trimester of 2020. It will change a lot of how Agility, Defense Power etc work.
Important point!
At the moment, very little balancing work is being conducted on Tribes and Weapons. This is because it would be a waste of time trying to do any balancing work now when the whole fight system is going to be changed.
So as always, we recommend to not listen to any of the 'this tribe is better' or 'this weapon is better' talk, because some major balancing work will be conducted once the new system is in place. This could potentially include a change to EVO costs with retroactive effect for some tribes. Weapons will also be rebalanced. So as always, stick to a tribe/weapon you like and don't aim for what you think is best today, and especially not because other people told you to.
Christmas Event
We will have a special Christmas Event which should get you plenty of gifts.
The event will last for about a week. We are hoping to launch it on the Christmas week but it will depend on how soon we get the new server up and how soon the inevitable migration bugs will be fixed.
This will also be a good stress-test for the new CPU and RAM.

- Time-resources of the developers is limited. We have jobs that are not this game. So anti-cheat development takes from game development... therefore...
- We will have 0 pity for cheaters, no matter how dedicated to the game they are, no matter how strong their character is, etc
- The most time-consuming part of anticheat is not designing detection tools, and it's not running them either. The most time-consuming and by far most annoying part is listening to the bullsh*t lies and denial of cheaters after they are caught. So we have decided not to have ANY of that.
For that purpose: - We have a new anticheat admin and cheaters will be dealing with him and him alone. He is absolutely heartless. For obvious reason he will stay anonymous, and we shall call him The Executioner.
- When a cheater gets sent to prison island, they may get one chance to admit all their sins to The Executioner (via ingame message). One single chance, not two.
- This confession better be as honest as they can, with as much details as possible, and not forgetting anything.
- It is no use sending any form of denial or whatever.
- The Executioner will confront the confession to our evidence. If it is not 100% matching, if he feels the cheater hasn't been honest or that he tried to hide some facts, or worse, then the cheater will not even get a reply from him, he will never hear from any other admin again and his character will stay in prison island forever. There will not be any second chance.
- Should the first and only reply be a full confession, as accurate and honest as possible, then we will consider an appropriate punishment and the character will be allowed to keep playing.
But the #1 rule to remember about all this:
- If you are in prison island, do not ever, ever come to me to discuss it. Not in Discord, not in forums, not by email and certainly not via facebook. I do not want to know anything about it. Dspe neither. We will both focus all our time on making the game better for the honest players and we will not waste half a minute to listen to any denial or ridiculous excuses. If you received an ingame message from The Executioner, then deal with him. If you didn't, it means that The Executioner assessed that your fault was so serious that no confession could be accepted and that your character will never leave the prison, no matter what.
Some additional measures taken to fight against resource-exploring multis:
- Addition of a 350+ encounter in sulfur areas (both inside and around lava)
- Addition of a 300+ monster spawn in rivers
- All resource material will be monitored. We will know which characters found a lot of sulfur, gemstones, iron ore, etc... even down to copper ores and coal. We will not let any multi skew the value of items.
- Specific measures against multis used a spies
Agi/Str, Tribe and Weapon balancing
As announced in the very early beginning of the game, we have to compensate for the snowball effect of the current Defense/Attack Power system by tweaking the bonus of Agility/Strength once more:
- Agility now adds 1.7 Defense and Attack Power (vs 1.8 before).
- Strength now add 0.9 Defense and Attack Power (vs 1 before). Effect on damage remains the same.

This will also be a good stress-test for the new CPU and RAM.
Terraforming
- All terraforming (and road building) is on hold for now until new server is operationnal.
- It's getting too confusing compiling terraforming information from different sources, so from now on, mayors will be asked to submit once a week the compilation of terraforming requests that they approve. This also means your terraforming project needs to have your Mayor's approval.
This concerns only terraforming, not road/bridge building.
- The cost of terraforming is now increased (they were set low for the early game when characters had very low general skills). The new costs are 1200 logs (forest), 1400 raw stone (mountain lvl1) and 2200 raw stones (mountain lvl2).
Other changes
- Fellowship Initiation 1 Quest: The location of the black skeever camp was moved so that new players can finish the quest without using too much of their moves.
- Camp quest minion bugs: The camp-spawn system for quest (like the skeever camp) was broken meaning we couldn't add minions to the camps (like 2 black skeever + 3 wasps + 2 permiana for example). It's now fixed so we can have bigger and more diversified spawns in future quests.
- Faction page: The list of members of the faction only shows characters that have been active in the past 7 days (the page was taking 8 seconds to load and would show a list of 800 irrelevant names).
