Titanium Wars - Results
Well that was a deadly event!
155 characters were killed in the 5 days of the Titanium Wars (85 on Order side, 70 on Forsaken side).
Both factions played very well, the first half of the event was extremely tight, with Order maintaining a short but steady lead. Then one large fight (7 jumping on the main camp of Forsaken with 15!) went horribly wrong for Order and led to a cascade of Forsaken at and beyond the border. It led to a very tough 24h for Orders, with Forsaken getting a landslide number of kills and being up by 30. But Order ended up sending the intruders home and even recovered quite well in the end with some guerilla efforts, ending up with clearing the bridge, and narrowing down the kill-count difference to about 15.
2033 Titanium ores have been mined. Considering there were 7 mines, the maximum possible was 2,100, that shows you had a 96.8% efficiency rate in harassing those mines! And that's not counting the few ores that were left on the ground and turned into raw stone (yes sadness, it did happen).
It's hard to get an accurate figures of where the ores went because they are spread over so many characters and group towns, but looking at the bigger numbers a close estimation is:
-900ish went to Forsaken
-550ish went to Order
-550ish went to Free Folks
Rush Server Update - Alpha-test session coming up!
We are thrilled to say that we have made huge progress on the Rush Server! We are closer to it than ever.
In case it is not clear for some, here is how this rush server will work:
The first round(s) will feel extremely familiar. We will keep it easy in the beginning, and a lot of it will be imported from Agonia. Once everything is working smoothly, we will start working on that server to give it its own life in a way, with specific new monsters, items, recipes, etc.
We will also be able to change the rules, the map, the factions, etc from one round to another, to have different scenarios.
Alpha-test
Just like for Agonia, we will start with an Alpha-test to make sure the server works and to do some debugging.
We selected a team of 8 players, who will participate in this 7-10 day test-session.
They will do a 4vs4 opposition. The purpose is to test every aspect of the game, find bugs, gauge the balance and help us finalize the world, while having fun (hopefully!).
Our team of testers will be Dihajh, Catlord, GiantDad, Nishi, Bacon, Jolly, Antidievs and Askytos.
We expect the alpha-test to begin in a few days!

New Tribe Spells!
This week, we're adding the Kiith and Leafborn spells, and they are in some ways different sides of the same coin.
These spells are quite strong, so they will come at a price! The new feature here is that these spells will use up a spirit, as well as a fragment of a gem.
Kiith - Warg Spell
Utilizing their weird obsession with dark magics, a Kiith can animate or possess a nearby Crow, allowing them a much greater view of their surroundings from the sky.
Sight bonuses are a normal occurrence in game, so you should have an idea how this works. While powerful, the effect doesn't last that long.
Warg Shard recipe
Leafborn - Kamo Spell
Using their natural link to forests and powerful sorcery, a Leafborn can cloak themselves and become much harder to detect while in a forest and stationary.
This effect measures how much closer to you someone has to be to actually notice you. If someone has 11 sight, and you have +3 Camouflage, they need to be 8 tiles away or less to spot you. At 9, 10 or 11 tiles distance, they will see your tile, they will see others on your tile (unless they also have Kamo activated), but they won't see you, your initials, and you won't be counted in the tally of characters/tribes on that tile. You are invisible to all in-game systems.
The effect lasts quite a while, allowing you to hide for a good amount of time, but wears off instantly if you are to move or explore. Use it to hunker down for the night, or to stay as a hidden scout for an extended period.
Warg Shard recipe
NOTE: Upcoming New Spell System: This is not implemented yet but it's a good opportunity to announce it. A new Spell system is under work and should be out soon. The spells will be the same, but they will have different levels that you can upgrade. Most of the spells you know today are more or less equivalent of Level 2. That is also the case for Warg and Kamo spells.
General Skills Ranks
Ranks and Titles are a way to give a roleplay, community, and prestige award to those who have excelled in different areas of the game, and in small ways, compete with each other. They are viewable through your character description where all of your titles are listed. Also, through the Local Chat Window, View Details page, Environment, just about anywhere your character name is present, you will be able to show your favorite or preferred title with your name. Ranks and Titles can be most anything, the basics are focused on skill levels and character power, but will be expanded upon. In the future as we find it fitting, we could hook achievements, roleplay, quest completion, monster kills, sorcery stats, player vs. player notoriety, and so on into the rank and title system.
We're starting today with General Skills Ranks, which will allow the talented crafters that have put others before themselves to show more pride in their work, and advertise their services. The 5 highest of each General Skill will have a unique title, signifying they are the most proficient. This is currently global, meaning even with two factions, there will only be five ranks per general skill.
Keep an eye out for those in your faction who have earned them!
Note: It's possible we change the names and number of ranks in the near future.
Note 1: You can hide your rank if you wish, in your character Options page.
Note 2: If you have multiple ranks, you can choose which one to show in front of your name, also in your character Options page.
Newbie Order Bonus
As described in the debrief, the four-five days of the event were very different, the first 2 days both faction put up a great fight, they were tied in number of kills and even if Forsaken was getting a bigger chunk of the ores, Order were putting up a good fight. Then one mistake and it let to a snowball effect on the battlefield, with the smaller of the two factions (in player numbers) getting swamped by the other.
It showed the limits of the current balance between the two factions, with Forsaken having about 35% more players after Order suffered the loss of several of their players who left the faction (or the game altogether). And most would agree that game would be more fun with a bit more balance.
In an attempt to address this we decided to give a small help to Order side. It will not be a free gift on a silver platter to existing players, but it is a good boost to help them reconstruct from the ground up.
New players who pick Order faction will get a small additional XP bonus: 75% chance of double bonus instead of 60%.
But most importantly, this will be reflected on the character creation page, and because players hate to miss out on bonuses, our intention is to have 75-80% of new players join Order side.
This will give them an opportunity to welcome a lot of new players, and to have them train fast (with new XP bonuses, quest rewards and exemption of hardcap for newbies, you can be hardcapped in less than 1 month).
We will keep a close eye, and the amount and duration of this bonus will be adapted frequently as needed.
I thank the Forsaken with whom we had this discussion and who all approved this, for the good of the game. I hope everyone can understand that!
Tip for Order: now that majority of newcomers should pick your side, it's the good moment to make a little extra effort to recruit new players with your referral link

Other Changes
-An infrastructure with a health over 90% cannot be fixed (this is to avoid Mayor to pay full price for just +3% if infrastructure is fixed from 97% to 100%).
-Mayor can now access all mayor infrastructure tools from anywhere on the map as long as there is infrastructure on their tile.
-Group auto-join has been deactivated. Auto-join was the feature that allowed any applicant to be automatically accepted as Member instead of having to wait as Outsider for manual acceptance. It is too dangerous as it means anyone applying to group would affect diplomacy and could trigger diplo issues on purpose (some were planning to use it). It is not possible to enable auto-join anymore and any group that had the option activated now has it deactivated.
-No leadership reward if the character you kill is below 1000 turns (this was added during the event)
-(Upcoming) Now that the leggings are ingame and add protection, we will adjust monster damage accordingly, but we give you a week to get pants first
-(Upcoming) For similar reason, AP bonus of players will be increased from 70 to 75.

Rush Server Update - Alpha-test session coming up!
We are thrilled to say that we have made huge progress on the Rush Server! We are closer to it than ever.
- Database tables were imported
- Code was edited to allow for two character slots on the same account
- Map was imported and tested
- We started filling up the map with explores, encounters, etc.
- Lot of debugging and code adaptation
- Duplicating, tweaking and testing of the Fight Engine on rush server
In case it is not clear for some, here is how this rush server will work:
- You will have access to both characters from both server on your player main page
- The two worlds will be completely independent. You can create any char you like, with any name, play with whoever, while being transparent or not about who you play
- The rush server will be the same as Agonia, same tribes, same monsters, same items.
- Only main difference is that XP will be faster, recipes easier to access, and map is really really tiny (caps are about 1000 moves away from each other).
- So everything will go very fast, and with a lot of PvP
- After 6-8 weeks, or when a faction is a clear winner, the rush server gets a full reset. All players are wiped off and the world is fully reinitiated.
- After a down-time of 6-8 weeks (heh you need to rest), a new round will start
The first round(s) will feel extremely familiar. We will keep it easy in the beginning, and a lot of it will be imported from Agonia. Once everything is working smoothly, we will start working on that server to give it its own life in a way, with specific new monsters, items, recipes, etc.
