You need Suture Kits to cast Medic on other people. If you are healing yourself, use it like a potion instead of casting medic as it will heal more.
Suture kit recipe:
This recipe requires 20 skill in tailoring and 1 turn.
This recipe produces 1 Suture kit
Ingredients: 1 Bone needle, 1 String
Tools: None
Building needed: None
Having it be in the in-game error would be nice though!
