Double Craft XP Weekend
From Friday, June 17th at 8:00 PM Server Time (Paris) to Sunday, June 19th at 8:00 PM Server Time (Paris), all crafting XP will be doubled! Save your turns up before hand, gather materials and work orders, and go wild!
Stonecutting, Woodcutting, Masonry (Standard and Infrastructure), Crafting, and Uncrafting are included in the bonus.
The bonus does not include spirit catching, rune merge or removal, and ending turns alone or with masters. Leadership XP from high rank crafts will not be doubled.
Character Policy Note
Recently, in a change to our character policy, we've allowed a player to return to a character that was, at the time, agreed to be permanently frozen so they could play as another tribe. Our policy on this topic has changed a few times over the years as we explore what feels right, but our stance is fairly blunt. We do not like character rerolls and "trials", and we do not like intentional premeditated cross-faction converts of tribes. However, we ask players to spend months and years in our game world, so a decent level of leniency is needed, and it feels we need to revise it. Players learn more about the game as they play, have regrets, genuine curiosities, change of interests, and other things that can heavily impact their enjoyment of how they are playing. As admins, we just need to ensure security from certain abuses are maintained in the process.
We do not currently have a solid outline of our next step in character policy and are talking it over, but we're currently heads down into a few other things we deem a bit more pressing, agonia's long needed content, code refit, Nyx 4, and so on. We'll let you know more when we do!
Game Updates
New Dragon AI
We've improved the dragon AI to bring these legendary hunts one step closer in line to how they were originally envisioned. The new script runs much more often, allowing its movement and pathing to be more granular and watchable. It will now take smaller steps more often, instead of seemingly randomly teleporting large distances. Its decision making is also more advanced, and it will actively hunt down, chase and engage, and devour targets, players and fauna creatures alike, and in doing so, it will gain power and recover from its injuries. This also means you can try and control the dragon movement by luring it with players (good luck to them) or creatures. However, like before, if it is sufficiently injured and not locked into immediate combat, it will retreat progressively from the island entirely.
Dragons are regularly updated in power level relative to players and their rising skill and evolution, they will always remain a dynamic and perilous faction-level event with enormous rewards. We hope these changes make your hunts more dangerous and difficult, but also more engaging for your team.
Quests
New Fauna 8: Bringing the next step of the classic quest line, Fauna Atlas Volume 8 / VIII is now available in faction capitals. It currently requires being within 50 skill from the weekly rising hard skill cap and completion of the appropriate Fauna Atlas Volume 7 / VII to accept.
New Quest: The Commissions Officer has posted a new emergency bulletin. It requires 350 main weapon skill.
The "No Mans Land" faction PVP quest series now requires you to be part of the proper faction to accept it. Free folk or outsiders who have already done it will be grandfathered in for the completion of the first quest, but will not be able to participate in the future quests in the line. This was always the intent and idea, though it wasn't possible without some new code which we prioritized after the flippant cross-faction information sharing during the first quest's release.
Newbie Records
Alongside the ever increasing newcomer bonus which aims to launch young characters into a competitive position, we will be adding official rewards for the fastest milestone accomplishments as well. We've done similar things in the past, the highest main skill in x days mark, and just want to expand on it. With the helpful guiding hands of both communities, new players have an outline to success and how to become strong, along with the supplies and protection to get there. These further reward players who put in effort and gives an economy boost to those who reach it, allowing them to pay back a portion to the players who helped them get there or invest it in themselves to continue progressing even faster for their team. As the bonus increases, it will be easier and easier to break some records in the future, and we may expand on it more, adding new categories or rewarding players for reaching certain benchmark milestones themselves not just breaking the records.
-Top weapon skill at 30 days
-Fastest to 500FP
-Fastest to 1000FP
-Fastest to 1500FP
Important: these rewards are not automatic! If you beat one of the records, you need to let an admin know. There will be no retroactive count of days. Obviously the FP does not include bonus from rings or potions, only pure stats and skills!
Prodigy Rank: if a character is holding one (or more) of the records, they get the 'Prodigy' honorary rank.
Note: while we were working on this, Quinine (258 days) and then Xenen (257 days) broke the 1000FP record, which was then beaten by Selunenailo (244), therefore they will all get the Gold reward (but only Selunenailo gets the rank).
Auction System Polish
With ongoing quality of life and code/bug review for the auction system, we've committed some updates recently.

Auction System Polish
With ongoing quality of life and code/bug review for the auction system, we've committed some updates recently.
- The per-player simultaneous auction limit was raised from 3 to 1000.
- We've fixed the timer extension when bidding on an item in the final moments, the timer will now properly add an additional 60 seconds if there is a bid in the last minute of an auction timer.
- We've fixed the trade center display for sellers with completed auctions, now properly notifying when the item has sold and for how much, instead of incorrectly showing it ended with no bids and needs retrieved.
- We've added a pigeon letter to the message inbox of the seller and the successful buyer for when an auction completes.
- We've added a pigeon letter to the message inbox when you were outbid for an active auction.
Other Changes
- Due to player feedback and voting, we've reverted to the Look Around link when clicking your own initials on the minimap. We'll likely add a consistent View Details link to the environment box in the bottom of the main page instead.
- To alleviate misclicks, we've spaced out the links for Explore and Reload underneath the movement compass arrows, while moving Look Around under the minimap. Let us know how it goes.
- We're performing ongoing backend work to the item system, which players may notice as sorting order has changed or one or two things appear different or missing. This is work leading us down the road to much greater quality of life and features, item decay and repair (along with an adjusted economy), and unique items
- Polearm strength requirement was lowered recently, this change is primarily focused on Kiith and Nuruk in the rush server, who while favored in polearm cannot immediately keep up with the polearm's standout high stat requirements, as it is the starting weapon for Mythos. There is no harm in keeping the requirements consistent between servers in this case, so we did so to alleviate some confusion going forward.
New values are:
Tier 1: 8 Strength / 9 Agility
Tier 2: 16 Strength / 18 Agility
Tier 3: 24 Strength / 26 Agility
Tier 4: 32 Strength / 34 Agility
Tier 5: 40 Strength / 42 Agility
Bugs fixed
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with alchemy craft bonus output that prevented players from fully completing a bulk craft order.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with the database integer size of mayor infrastructure funds account which was limiting the possible amount.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with runed talismans not attributing the correct amount of elemental resistance.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with the recruitment and referral system not attributing reward points. Points have been compensated retroactively.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with listing similar runed equipment for the same price on the market, causing them to become unworkable items.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error with posting additional quantity to several pre-existing market listings simultaneously.
- Bugfix: Fixed an error preventing the system message notifying you an item from your dwelling was moved if the group name has an apostrophe.
