It was great fun to play BACON.
I have been an online gamer for 30 years and Bacon is tied for my all-time favorite alias.
I live in a country where having bacon is outlawed and a criminal offense; and so seeing those words as I logged in, remembering its amazing taste, and playing a successful character with its name was awesome. Until it was not.
Dying with all my top gear and 5 diamonds was too much for me. Despite the kind words and offers from every player on the Order side, and even some from Forsaken, I did not wish to rebuild. It paralleled some issues in my real life, that I just wanted to walk away and capture intact the good memories.
So, I took a few months off.
I rejoined the game on July 1st, Canada Day, as I’m Canadian and at the time, only Belouch and Mutuwa knew my true identity. Few game admins have the maturity to step back and allow players to play their characters and not ‘over control a game’, so I’m grateful to Belouch for forcing me to take a month to make sure this is the path I wanted to take.
Obviously, I miss the evening chats I had with several Order players. As a former Flail user, I did enjoy the title of “Whip of the Order” to rally Order players and keep its faction strong and growing.
And so, I’m now SUNBURN. After 3 months, I have only 300 FP, so I’m not going to tip the scales of the game.
I did not make Forsaken to get away from anyone in Order (I was asked if Atro or Mungo set me off. Not the case, both of those guys would give up a few hours sleep if it helped their faction, and both were always generous with me)
And so it was a desire for something completely new, with no responsibilities that led me to a Forsaken re-roll. And a chance to see the other side of the map. I’m enjoying my relaxed style of play. I’m a support player and often let my turns & moves waste over max.
I hope we ring Agonia through 2030, and so I wish to state that Jolly is the heart and soul of the Order Faction. It does bother me to read folks slinging mud at him in Discord. Please don’t chase this amazing person from the game. Be nice. And Grahf is also an incredible guy who has had unfair accusations sent his way. Yes, completely separate person that I can attest having been in many raids and listening to both of them cooling call off targets and battle plans.
I’m sharing who I am now, so I can rekindle those good conversations with all players in the game.
I do enjoy Korean TV shows, and Sunburn’s roleplay will involve a Grim Reaper element from the movie linked in my bio. More to see..
