Finhorn sat up, rubbing his eyes. His head was pounding, and he felt disoriented. He tried to remember where he was and how he had gotten there, but it was all a blur. He looked around and saw that he was lying on a dock, surrounded by water.
He stood up, his small feet making a soft padding sound on the wood. He looked around, but there was nobody in sight. He wondered if he had been left there on purpose or if he had just stumbled upon the dock by chance. He didn't even know what land he was on.
Finhorn noticed that he had no recollection of his life story. He didn't know who he was or where he came from. It was as if he had just been born and placed on that dock.
The only thing he knew was his name, which he must have remembered instinctively. He was Finhorn, a lightfoot, known to be a race party goers but also silent in the wild.
Venturing up from the docks to what appears to be a city on top of a mountain. Approaching in the city, he starts to follow his nose to the smell of freshly cooked stew and the sound of a party. He comes across a tavern called The laughing troll, which at first he thought it was an odd name, but maybe was this part of the local culture. Behind the bar was yet alone, and fellow Lightfoot, who he came to learn, was called Askytos.
For the rest of the evening, the two lightfoot talked back and forth and Askytos explained how everybody came to the island, the same way as Finhorn did.
The people were kind and welcoming, and offered to take him in. He had nothing to offer in return, so he decided to take up work in village's tavern, The laughing troll. He was a quick learner and seemed oddly natural to him. Soon became one of the popular bartender’s in town. He made enough money to pay for his room and board, and he was content.
However, Finhorn had a feeling that this wasn't enough. He wanted to find out more about himself, and he was determined to do so. He decided to venture out into the wilderness and hunt monsters, hoping to find clues to his past. He also brought back goods from his hunts to sell to the mayor of the city, Skadi.
Finhorn quickly gained a reputation as a brave hunter, and soon he was making more money than he had ever dreamed of. He used the money to buy better weapons and armor, as well as to learn new skills. He was becoming more and more confident and independent, and he was quickly becoming an integral part of the village.
However, no matter how hard he tried, Finhorn could not remember anything about his past. He became frustrated and saddened, but he never gave up hope. He kept hunting and selling his goods, and he kept searching for answers.
One day, while he was out hunting, he stumbled across a strange cave. He decided to go in and explore, and he soon found himself in a strange world. He was amazed by what he saw, and he soon realized that he was in a world of magic and mystery.
He explored further and eventually came to a chamber filled with ancient artifacts. He recognized some of the objects, and it suddenly all made sense. This was his past, and he had been here before. He was a mage and a warrior, and he had been searching for a powerful artifact that could help him regain his memory.
He soon found the artifact, and as soon as he touched it, his memories flooded back. He remembered years spent in the family tavern. A time of adventure, and a time of his death. A memory of a mage putting him to sleep and being torn apart by ghouls.
But that memory is in the past. And he knows this is his future now. Barkeep is his home and his new family awaits his return to hear about another adventure.
