Because this game does not have racial capitals and is instead organized around factions, I'd like to suggest an alternative to race ranks.
Forsaken Top 3 faction power: Patron, Matron, Harbinger, Tyrant Top 10: Partisan, Acolyte, Disciple
Fellowship Top 3 faction power: Champion, Paragon Top 10: Vanguard, Herald, Councilor
Free Folk Top 3: Renegade, Apostate Top 10: Hooligan, Scoundrel, Rogue, Pioneer
One downside to this approach is that it codifies the conflict as being essentially two-sided. Though it basically already is.
Also I suggest that there be titles related to special events or achievements. For example, the people who got the kill shot on the boat squid could be "Squid Hunter."

Personally I would say titles should not be associated with 'profession/class' words. Ex. Rogue, Druid, Hunter/Huntress, Necromancer, Mage, Assassin, Barbarian, Swordsmaster, etc. Also, due to the nature of this game the ranks should be specific to faction and not to tribe/race. What I mean by that, for example, is that a Norsk who left his faction to join the Fellowship is no longer part of the Norsk tribe, thus...he would not have a title befitting one of said tribe. Same goes for any race who left their default faction to be a part of another. They are no longer part of that tribe, thus would not fall under their societies rank structure. Because of the complicated nature of that technicality, ranks should be related to the faction structure as a whole. Example: Fellowship High ranks: King, Queen Low ranks: Noble (both genders) ForsakenHigh ranks: Warlord (both genders) Low ranks: Chieftain, Chieftess Free FolkLow ranks: High ranks: Patriarch, Matriarch, Elder ?? These would apply to all races. This makes the rank system both markedly easier, and makes sense. Even a Lightfoot who joins the Forsaken could in time rise to the rank of Warlord, as in their society prowess and strength are the ruling traits. Same goes equally for the fellowship and Kings/Queens, etc. That isn't to say that each race can't have their own Kings/Queens, or Warlords, etc, etc. What this means is just that the highest skilled Forsaken of each race are all Walords, and the Highest skilled Fellowship of each race are all Kings/Queens, regardless of race. This system would make it so that ranks matched faction. After all, wouldn't really make sense to have a 'Dark Master' Kiith running around with the Free Folk or the Fellowship, or a 'Leaf King' Leafborn running around with the Forsaken. Just my two cents.

I generally agree with Griswald. As a suggestion, though, since faction power takes general skills into account (I believe), the forsaken titles should not include references to war.
I've also been trying to think of minor powers that faction ranks could give you. It would be neat if there was some small ability granted along with the recognition. Any perk that came with the rank would have to be very carefully considered because, in general, if you're ranked you don't need more boosts.
So far here are my ideas for perks accessible to the highest ranks:
They can use their leadership skill and a bunch of tough ingredients to craft a temporary resurrection spot for their faction (which they themselves cannot use). This grants a boost to the faction, but not necessarily the ranked individual themself.
They can be a master for training w/o having their turns used up, or at a lower rate.
They have to use their leadership skill to interact with certain npcs to start a quest for their faction. This is more of a responsibility than a perk, but can force some rp. A good "queen" cares about her people and a bad one neglects them.
I was gonna suggest that only ranked people would get the faction message-all skill, but that is too useful to put behind a wall.
That's all for now.

since faction power takes general skills into account (I believe) Faction power seems based on your stats (you can gain rank by casting a stat buff spell or drinking a stat consumable), basicly it is how strong you are statwise it seems. Just that it can be affected in such a way seems dubious to me. It might be better if consumables were left out of it, or if it was based on number of evolution points. As I understood it, you gain less then 1 evolutionpoint for lower skill points and more than 1 for higher skill points. Which should prevent an overall gaming to the system.
